Appointed after the Swiss theologian, this translation of the Bible is one of the most popular translation in the Francophonie in the Protestant middle. The Old Testament was published in 1874 and the new in 1880.
It is one of the most popular translations in French because:

2. A very rigorous language without being too complex;
3. A very rich and simple vocabulary for the time it was published.
